FA Cup Final: Chelsea v Everton


Chelsea meet Everton in the FA Cup Final on tomorrow.  This will be the 15th major domestic cup final for both Chelsea and Everton.

Chelsea have reached the FA Cup Final 8 times before (winning 4) and the League Cup Final 6 times (winning 4 as well).  Everton have reached the FA Cup Final 12 times before (winning 5) and the League Cup Final twice (without having won).

Five other clubs have reached 15 or more major domestic cup finals:

    Such finals have become increasingly common since the start of the new millenium.

    Everton have lost 58% of the FA Cup Finals they have previously reached.  Of the clubs that have reached the FA Cup Final five or more times, only Preston North End (2 wins from 7) and Huddersfield Town (1 win from 5) have lost a higher proportion.
